Audi Canada has welcomed Sarah Polley as its tenth featured guest of the Audi Innovation Series. Noted writer, director, producer and actress, Ms. Polley has been recognized for her work with both an Oscar award and the Governor General’s award. In an intimate conversation with CBC’s Dwight Drummond, Ms. Polley discussed her approach to innovation, the creative process, and her career’s successful trajectory.
Amongst multiple awards and nominations, in 2023, she won her first Academy Award for her film, Women Talking, being awarded for Best Adapted Screenplay.
“I always feel like when I’m thinking about ‘is this going to be worth doing or putting out into the world’, I feel like for me, just watching the pattern of how I’ve worked over the years… if I can’t see where something is going but I’m following a very strong instinct somewhere, but I don’t have a model for what it looks like, I can’t compare it to something and therefore I feel completely lost, that feels like to me the path”, says Sarah Polley.
“We are extremely grateful to have welcomed Ms. Polley as our tenth Audi Innovation Series featured speaker”, says Vito Paladino, President at Audi Canada. “As one of the world’s most distinguished creators and storytellers, Ms. Polley has established herself as a preeminent voice in Canadian film through her talent and passion for creative change, and I’m looking forward to sharing this conversation with everyone”, Paladino added.
