Hot on the pink high heels of the Barbie movie’s summer release date being announced — and the whole social universe clamouring for tickets — Warner Bros. Canada kicked off a vision of bringing Barbie Land to the real world.
Tasked with creating a one-of-a-kind branded space to host Barbie’s star Kenadian Kens Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu, YBIMC set out to build the hottest ticket in town to fête the movie event of the year.
Kenter the pinkest, tallest, Barbiest takeover the agency has ever produced! Kicking off the Kenada Day long weekend, hundreds of Barbies and Kens gathered at INK Hospitality Group’s CLIO, where multiple floors of the Toronto heritage building were transformed to look their Barbiecore best.
Outside, the entire building’s front façade was awash in beautiful pink uplighting. Custom art developed by YBIMC adorned windows, doorways, and crowd barricades. Inside, every opportunity was taken to make the Dreamhouse even dreamier. A 70-foot pink carpet with a custom-developed photo backdrop hosted Warner Bros. Canada’s invited press; radiant florals, lamps, candles, and more Ken-rgized guests’ Kenversations; and Margo restaurant’s rooftop terrace was outfitted to the nines.
The terrace boasted a beautiful sparkling pink dancefloor featuring DJ sets by 4KORNERS, pink lanterns, and because everything’s better with bubbles, YBIMC brought those too. A non-alcoholic bar served up mocktail creations by CLIO Hospitality Group, featuring YBIMC partners Flow Water, Ceder’s Premium Distilled Non-Alcoholic Spirit, Candy Can, Giffard Syrups, and Walter Gregor’s Handcrafted Tonic Waters.
Beyond the décor, YBIMC managed production of all AV efforts, venue scouting and negotiations, partner and stakeholder logistics, as well as bringing the event to life on Warner Bros. Canada’s social pages with original pre-event, day-of, and post-event content production accompanied by beautiful drone footage from the skies.
Because nothing is possible without our wonderful client, extremely supportive network of trusted suppliers, and team of dedicated YBIMC staff, we have to acknowledge that it took all of Barbie Land to bring this Kenormous event to life — and we couldn’t be more grateful.
