The sequel to the beloved 2019 DC superhero film, Shazam! Fury of the Gods has big shoes (or superhero boots) to fill, with fans (and Shazamilies) across Canada eagerly awaiting its release.
Stars Zachary Levi and Lucy Liu were set to grace the red carpet in Toronto as part of a two-day Canadian visit, so the featured event at Scotiabank Theatre couldn’t just be any ordinary movie-going experience — it had to be a Super Special Fan Screening.
YBIMC’s work in creating this experience included the design, production, and installation of a massive 116-foot film-themed backdrop, complete with shimmering red carpet. It also included the creation of a super-sized portrait of the wise-cracking hero, made of more than 12,500 Skittles, tapping into a key film partnership to produce an eye-catching and incredibly sweet photo opportunity for the more than 500 fans in attendance.
As Warner Bros. Canada’s digital agency, our team also carried the responsibility of capturing and sharing all the engaging moments from the stars’ two magical days with fans, media and content creators — all for social media audiences across the country. Producing and publishing video, stories and in-feed content, we tapped into our experience in deftly navigating real-time events to create fun and timely social moments.
The entire experience left Canada’s Shazamily buzzing.
For Billy Batson, “SHAZAM!” is the magic word that transforms him from a teenager into an adult superhero. If you’re looking to level up your own events or social content, our own super team would be happy to help. Just say the word. YBIMC!
