About Your Role
From red carpets to some of the most exclusive events in the country, from exciting brand launches to always on PR pitching. From strategy to activation to tactical excellence, the YBIMC Public Relations Associate will have the opportunity to help shape and execute communications strategy for world-class brands. You’ll be tasked with building strong relationships among journalists and broadcasters. The success of this role is tied to having existing mainstream media relationships and employing them to build comms strategy and smart pitches.
As a Public Relations Associate at YBIMC, you are accountable for:
•    Developing strategic and strong PR campaigns and messaging, creating unique and compelling stories, campaigns and event ideas for our clients' brands and products, securing visibility and earned coverage
•    Media outreach/PR pitching
•    Managing execution and progress of developed campaigns, gathering and analyzing results, and producing informative reports based on key targets

•    Building and growing relationships with key media; developing strong database(s) as relevant to PR goals, brands, and target customer segments
•    Developing press releases, as well as internal and external communication documents on behalf of clients, including but not limited to public announcements, press briefings, and interview prep
•    Working cross-functionally with other team members to add value for our clients and the agency; brainstorming creative ideas, supporting with existing and new client pitching
•    Staying up to date on media research tools and metrics—and being well-versed about the North American media landscape


What We’re Looking For
•    4+ years of professional public relations or communications experience, with a strong understanding of Canadian and North American media
•    Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a proven record of securing earned media
•    A proven personal rolodex of Canadian media players
•    Experience drafting corporate communications for press releases, pitches, advisories, and one-to-one journalist outreach
•    Candidate must be detail-oriented and able to handle various projects simultaneously
•    Experience with public relations tools such as Meltwater, MRP, and Cision
•    Experience collaborating with an integrated marketing team
