About Your Role
As an Intermediate Graphic Designer at YBIMC, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and execute communications strategy for world-class brands. You will have the opportunity to work on public relations, digital and experiential marketing, showcasing your strong capabilities with both words and graphics. You’ll be tasked with copywriting, copyediting, photo editing, graphic arts and design. The success of this role is tied to your ability to work in a fast-pace environment, and your unique set of communication skills conveyed through words and imagery.  
As an Intermediate Graphic Designer at YBIMC, you are accountable for: 

•Working with the creative director, develop compelling and visually-arresting images, copy and creative concepts. 
•Strategizing event design, experiential design, ad campaigns, and flat and motion graphics.
•Building and growing relationships with print, digital and experiential suppliers. 
•Developing creative assets across all areas of the agency – from events and brand partnerships to advertising campaigns and presentations.
•Working cross-functionally with other departments to add value for our clients and the agency. Brainstorming creative ideas, supporting with existing and new client’s pitching.
•Staying up-to-date on the creative services industry, tools and breakthroughs, and be well versed on cutting edge design. 
What We’re Looking For
•4+ years’ (post-internship) experience with an agency, media outlet, brand, publishing house or similar.
•Demonstrate a strong portfolio of creative work which showcases in-depth knowledge of creative design techniques for print and digital media.
•Demonstrate expert knowledge of flat layout with a strong understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, colour theory and principles of design. 
•Demonstrate previous work in creating compelling copy to accompany imagery. 
•Have a keen eye for detail, especially when it comes to typography.
•Have a minimum of one years’ experience developing creative pieces (jpgs, gifs, mpgs, etc) specifically for social media.
•Demonstrable skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (CS6 or newer for Mac) with the ability to learn and become proficient with emerging creative software types.
•Are highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook and have a working knowledge of Excel.
•Have excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and visual.
•Pride yourself in being organized, self-motivated and deadline driven.
•Have a proven track record of following a robust schedule of activity and delivering on deadlines.
•Are bilingual (Canada-relevant language) – it’s a bonus.
